Meadow Gillispie

Fridley, Minnesota

I have been living in Fridley my whole life and received my education all through Fridley Public Schools. I'm now moving on to further my education and play basketball at Neosho College. I'm currently studying athletic training, but I would also love to major in psychology later on. I participated in 9th through 12th included: basketball, track, MHS, Key Club and AASU.I was a captain for basketball 10th-12th. I lettered all 4 years, and I was awarded the Tiger Award and Tiger for life, as well as all conference for academics. I lettered for track in 9th and was the most valuable freshman. Receiving a scholarship would impact my future career plans by taking a lot of weight off financially! Right now, my mom has been working a lot to help me with my college costs. It would really help me to continue to further my education and help me focus on academics and my basketball season instead of trying to find time to work when I can. Our schedule is already booked 7am-7pm every weekday, so I don’t know what it will be like to be a college student athlete just yet. I know it’s a bigger commitment, so any type of scholarship would help me so much, so I don’t have to worry about the financial aspect so much.

Meadow received the Hana Mohammad Scholarship awarding $4,000 over a two-year period.
